Hello CVIBE Family-

Thank you for your overwhelming support of our August issue. Since last we spoke we have celebrated our first issue with a launch party held at NY’s Club Decade. It was a crisp spot that was made great by the presence of family, friends and well wishers. We had The Chosen One of 104.7FM on the wheels of steel and MC Dylan from WLIB 1190AM on the mic. Meshach, the Soca Monarch King of NY, treated us to a live performance. The event was truly a success and we look forward to future events and opportunities to meet our readers.

Also since last we spoke we have launched our new website. Come visit us at www.caribbeanvibeonline.com. You’ll be able to see the current issue, sign into our guestbook, contact us with your comments and suggestions, submit events, and find information on placing ads in our publication. Remember, out of many, one voice, so let us know what you’d like to see between the covers of our magazine. We promise to consider all suggestions.

This is our September issue and now that the West Indian Day Parade is done, it’s time to look at the disappearing days of summer. School is back, so we’ve tried to provide some useful information for both parents and students. On a different note, big up to all the New Yorkers who set and example for the youth and kept a level head when the lights went out!! Let’s be glad it
happened last month and not while all our kids were in school.

The entertainment industry lost a great dancer and actor in August with the passing of Gregory Hines. He will be missed. Luther Vandross is building up on the positive vibes still being sent by his fans. He’s said to be moving his right side and even slightly humming when his songs come on the radio. Best of health, Luther.

Well that’s all for now. Enjoy the issue and keep it level.

Cool.
