Sean Todd hails from the island of Jamaica
and is a shining example of hard work
and commitment to excellence. He is a
top engineering designer of mechanical
and electrical switches at Carling Technologies
in Connecticut having moved up through
the ranks since being employed there in
1988 as a Drafter. Sean’s accomplishments
are many, with the distinction of being
a member of the Development Engineering
Group at Carling. He is primary designer
on various transportation projects including
Mack trucks, Freightliner Trucks and Renault
(Volvo) Trucks and was recently awarded
patents on a Mack truck switch & a
fully waterproof switch. Being the only
Black designer at Carling, Sean realizes
that he is a rare commodity and wants
his achievement to be a message to others,
especially Caribbean youths of humble
beginnings like himself. Despite the demands
of his job Sean is a strong believer in
community involvement and has served as
director of Education Town Council and
as Arts Council member in the town of
Windsor, Connecticut where he resides.
He also tries to remain close to his culture,
as he owns his digital recording studio
and label. A family man Sean is married
with four children.
