Crossover done!!! At the 2004 Grammys,
Jamaican dancehall superstar Sean Paul
not only won the Grammy award for Reggae
Album of the Year with his multi-platinum
certified ‘Dutty Rock’ (VP/Atlantic),
but he also collaborated with rock icon,
Sting. During their loosely arranged live
performance of the classic hit ‘Roxanne’,
Sean Paul kicked it up with his well known
deejay baritone and brought the auditorium
to its feet. Also, in an historic piece
of Reggae history, Lady Saw (VP Records)
is officially the first Lady of Dancehall
to guest star on a Grammy winning single
with her appearance on No Doubt’s
‘Underneath It All’. The song
won Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group.

Music has come out with a strong new riddim,
The Leader. The Leader riddim is actually
a follower of the old school formula that
brings back the classic feel of “live
horns on a digital backdrop”. This
CD has some of the strongest names in
Reggae music voicing on it like, Sizzla’s
‘Love So Real’, Lady Saw’s
‘Still Convinced’ and Anthony
B’s ‘Rasta Fi Lead Yah’.
Not to mention Tony Curtis, Jah Mason,
and Nitty Kutchie among others. Chilly
and Prince B., the label’s founders,
are self proclaimed Reggae fanatics who
made sure that everything, from reality
to love, is represented on this fresh
new imprint. Check them out at www.hi-scoremusic.com.
