If the smooth, soulful sound of this
R&B crooner is anything to go by,
his status as a bachelor will be short-lived.
Let me introduce you to Jonathan ‘Peace’
Rodriquez. If his impressive resume is
the content of the man he is, soon he
will need no introduction. Peace grew
up in the Bronx, but soon called the West
Side streets of Manhattan his home. The
hard knocks of the street emboldened this
young man, giving him character and a
sense of purpose early in life. Born November
3, 1980, he is wise and surprisingly mellow
for a mere 23 years. If truth be told,
I almost killed the interview mid-way
with the hope of an Ashton/Demi escapade.
But good sense prevailed and so here he
is for all you young, nubile, lusty gen-xers.
Peace currently works as a salesman,
holding down an exciting second job as
a personal trainer. A budding singer he
is looking to make it big in the industry.
In fact when asked about where he sees
himself in the next 3-5 years he answered
definitively, “to be signed to a
label and be on tour.” His persona
is one of spirituality and a deep and
abiding respect for the nuances of life.
His songwriting style reflects just that,
revealing a sensual side that is equally
telling. Professionally, he has performed
at various clubs, including the Soul Café
and has appeared on 106 & Park’s
“Do You Show.”
He has also set his sites on a career
in acting, recently trying out for a reality
show on UPN 9, called “The UPN9
Player” and has caught the attention
of other producers such as the people
behind a show featuring Missy Elliot.
Nothing is a done deal yet but he’s
hoping to have a breakthrough real soon.
A brother with a positive attitude to
life and ambitious aspirations more often
than not desires potential partners bearing
similar qualities. It goes without saying
that first attractions start with a physical
connection and Peace is absolutely certain
of what his typical woman should look
like. His physical criteria are all very
interesting; “I like a woman who
is thick” he says who has some serious
‘buns’ and nice legs. My turn-off
is bad hygiene as that is indicative of
your mentality and defines you negatively”.
“My ideal mate should possess
old-fashioned values, should be supportive
and emotionally in tune with me”
he says. A sense of independence, spirited,
adventurous, amenable to change are all
qualities he thinks important to a successful
relationship. If you are “hot”
but can’t keep a home together (you
know take care of your man, as the old
adage says, a man’s house is his
castle), you need not apply. He believes
strongly that a man should be a man in
a relationship, respectfully so however.
Think you are the perfect candidate;
before you deliver yourself here’s
what will clinch the deal, you have to
be a lady on the streets and a freak in
bed, nothing else will do.
